I just saw a headline that said thieves purchased a lottery ticket with a stolen credit card and they won $525,000 USD. The dude who’s card was stolen offered to split the money with them because “without his credit card it would not have been possible to buy the ticket, but without the thieves’ behaviour, the ticket wouldn’t have been bought either”. What would you do?​

if they needed it then yes
if they didnt then sue and take all the money

i think splitting is lowkey the correct thing to do, because he never would've bought the ticket in the first place apparently. so i'd say split the money IF the thieves are kept watched by the police so they dont keep committing crimes with the money or whatever

I'd hold them at gun point, snatch the dough and tell them before leaving "oh, btw, you can keep my credit card, no hard feelings"!

I guess the issues did I know the thief had won the monies beforehand - if I did and I had the foreknowledge to know where the thief was then I would hire a couple of goons and confront the thief that way (or get the police)

tbh i'd do the same thing. like yeah stealing is a shit thing to do but even a half of that prize is more money than i'll possibly have in my life so i'd be happy even to split it
