So my English IV teacher has been grading things all class period yesterday because all of her students have turned in like 60 assignments that one day. Since we don't have to write a lot of essays, it doesn't take her long, but I feel so bad that the majority of people are waiting anywhere from days to months to turn in an assignment.

But anyway, I turned in one late assignment (it was the only one I had) that day (because it was for sure not going to be taken in anymore after that date) from a few days ago and she accidentally put in a 20/10 in the gradebook. I already had a high grade so that pushed me up to 102.04% when the highest you could get in any class was 100%. I could've not have emailed her (she probably would've realized it later on) but she is so nice and down to Earth and I felt really bad so I let her know. The last thing I would want is for her to get in trouble when she's just had a tough and very busy day.

What would you have done in this situation? Would you have told your teacher before semester grades were finalized or just let it be?
I feel like I did the right thing but I told some of my friends, and they jokingly were like "Why didn't you just leave it be? You could've gotten a 102%! LOL

Too bad it won't round up to 100% since it's literally 0.01% away from being 100%! (final grades round up to the nearest one's place). But I ain't taking no final just to raise my grade 0.01%. That would be a waste of both of our time.

You realize by being nice you made a busy person busier... On the other hand, if I was her I would have left it because you were honest. I wouldn't have said anything... because I probably wouldn't have noticed the grade was wrong.

That's true but since it's the end of the semester and we have real-time access to grades, I kept checking to make sure my grades were up where I want them. My grandparents are incentivizing for A's and B's LMAO 😏

She did reply and fix my grade almost immediately after I sent the email. But it bothers me how I end up with a 99.49% average where my school rounds up to one's place if the decimal places are more than 0.50%. It could've been 100% 😭😭😭

I definitely won't be taking the final just because I need 0.01%
I mean, it could be worse so I shouldn't be complaining. I could end up with 59.49% and end up failing if I don't get it up to a 60%
