Theoretically, let’s say a pharmaceutical company was sued for not following the law in regards to dispensing controlled substances. Theoretically Would you think that following that situation, they’d be a company to expect those illegal practices from because they did so in the past, or would you expect they’re better than others in that regard because they were fucked over before for it and therefore could face more scrutiny? Discuss

There are two sides to the argument, some people would say their reputation is tarnished because of past actions, while others may say they follow the rules even better now cause they got bit in the behind once before. I guess it would depend on the people running the company and their mindset - some people are willing to risk it again while others are not. So personally I would error on the side of caution and assume their reputation is tarnished.

depends on the size and attention to the lawsuit imo
purdue was sued a few times about misleading ads to doctors about the risks of oxy iirc but really it was the past 5y maybe that their reputation started having serious damage with the broader public

I've heard this saying before

a fine is merely a cost of business to large businesses
