Jam with tea. Not jam in tea, or bread with jam with tea, but just plain jam out of the jar. It’s my moms parents go to snack, and while they have some pretty great jam I just can’t get my head around eating it straight

Agreed! I even like pistachio with chocolate! But the execution of Dubai chocolate looks off.

I had a friend who would eat entire containers of Cool Whip, as is. Which I think tastes oily and noticeably less good than real whipped cream, but I can at least understand it has some baking uses. But to eat it plain?

Well, maybe it's kind of the same as people who have honey in their tea, both are sugar like. Maybe your family just does it to kind of mask the taste of the tea and find jam too icky to actually put it inside of the tea. I heard even actual honey is kind of icky too inside tea because of the texture it creates.

Either way I wouldn't have jam without bread ever, so I get you lol.

Ngl I don’t remember what it tastes like. I’ve only ever used it when mixed with a lot of stuff

Yeah I don’t drink tea, so I don’t know what it would be like to put jam right inside the cup. But I could imagine that it probably wouldn’t work well, particularly with jam that has solid chunks of berries or whatnot. They drink plain tea a lot, or with cracker or cookie like snacks, so the jam may be just a way to appreciate the tea in a form that isn’t plain or with something dry like baked stuff.
