Red Velvet - Queendom. Yeah maybe it’s simple but it’s so happy and the chorus gives me such infectious energy. It was a nice summer comeback and idk ppl can think what they want ofc but I’m a little surprised many felt lukewarm about it :(

Maybe enhypen pass the mic. Now criticism is valid and I don’t think that’s a great direction for en either but at the same time, I don’t think its that bad. Idk i felt that the response to it wasn’t measured. But then again, when people get dramatic about when a song is bad, my expectations are like idk very high in a way? Like, there’s many songs I’m meh about but not like many i feel are outright awful lol

fromis - fun. i will DIE a fun defender. it's silly and fun, and i personally love the descending chromatic scale in the hook. fun birthed two of the most iconic kpop lyrics ever ("come on gworls, get on the floor, fromis get set ready show" and "상상 속 난 ariana grande, 누가 볼 땐 어머 쟤 또 왜 그런대", both sung by nagyung lmao). it's just plain silly fun. and yet people hate.

Idk if Side Effects by SKZ counts but I think the amount of “noise” is understandable considering the subject/concept of the song. One of my favorite SKZ titles

I love Pass the Mic! It may not be the best song for the group's direction, but it's a fun banger. I really expected it to be trash based on how severe the reactions were toward it.
