When I went through the forest at 11pm with my father and mother. There were no lights, no candles, nothing. Just pure darkness and us. I was so scared, too scared to open my eyes, too scared to open them. I was convinced I´d break my mother´s hand by squeezing. I was about 9. It was still so terrifying. Never had I been in such a total darkness.

About two years ago when I was sexually assaulted by the night manager at the home for the blind where I used to live. I felt so scared, but also vulnerable and unsafe. I’m not as traumatized now, but the first week in the aftermath was a mess of crying and freaking out.
