I once owned a Brachypelma hamorii (Mexican Red Knee Tarantula)

Most people would find owning tarantulas to be creepy. However, they are very interesting animals. And depending on which species you get, they can be very calm and endearing creatures. The species that I owned was known for being on the calmer side, and mine was exceptionally calm and never once showed signs of aggression (except towards his prey).
