Fanfiction What's your opinion on FanFic being written of our idols? (1 Viewer)

I mean considering we have a whole section in the forums designated for us, I'd assume the site owners are cool with us.
A lot of people outside of closed communities however think the opposite, some going as far to say fanfics are sexual harassment.
I'm personally on the side that thinks it's not that deep but at the same time some of these writers are genuinely deluding themselves
and creating a dangerous environment in their mind by not crossing the line between reality and fantasies

the question isn't fanfiction per se but the contents thereof

what are you making fanfiction about? ie. is your content innocent and fun and not intended to sexualise the idols or write them in comprising or malicious situations?

obviously as you mentioned there are some things that cross a line but where that line is differs to different people

I think ppl can not read smth if they don't like it. You have to go out of your way to find fanfictions of specific groups or shows, etc. Grey's Anatomy idk. Most of these writers also block the artists from their accounts so they can't see their writings. We consume a lot of fanfiction tbh, 50 shades was a fanfic of twilight, After was a Harry Styles fanfic, Kissing Booth

The most delulu people are the ones making y/n fanfics imo

I'm also on the side that thinks it's okay, as long as you don't write like you're a delulu. I did use to write like a delulu, but I've learned my lesson - I had one stumbled upon by the person I was writing about (well, people - it was about an American Idol ship). I was so mortified, especially when I went back and reread it. It was just garbage. lol

there are certain lines that shouldn't be crossed, but if the people it's about are cool with it and everything is tagged appropriately, I see no problem with it
one of the idols I vaguely like was actually the one who got me on board a historical ship with her fanfiction lol
