During the Korean War, a group of heavily outnumbered US soldiers requested an airdrop of mortar shells, as they were running low. The code name for mortar shells was tootsie rolls. Apparently whoever got the message was unaware of this, and they sent the soldiers an actual package or tootsie rolls. Luckily for the soldiers, they realized they could use tootsie rolls to patch their supplies and vehicles, and they managed to escape as a result
