Like I said in my other thread I'm making a Uzbek dish tonight for dinner, Lagman. I was thinking that it would be extra cool because I thought I have never had an Uzbek dish, until I discovered I have in fact had a dish super popular to that area, the national dish of Uzbekistan even It's plov, a rice dish kind of like pilaf (might even be essentially the same just a different version). I've never cooked it myself, but growing up I've had it fairly often. But I never knew that it was so popular in some central Asian countries. Tbh I really just didn't think about the history of that one at all It's worth a try if anyone feels adventurous and wants a rice dish to cook. I think it wasn't stellar but maybe my moms version just isn't that amazing. Or maybe it was just my little kid taste, I haven't had it in quite a long time. But it's not super complex usually so if you try to make it and don't like it you didn't waste a ton of time and stuff on it at least.
