When you have the best feathers in the yard… (1 Viewer)

Our roosters are very handsome, they’re mixed with Easter Egger and Long tailed chickens. Because of the long tail in them they have these incredibly long tail feathers, both of them just finished molting about a week ago and their new feathers are beautifully dragging on the ground. However, they drag so much that their poor feathers get stepped on.
I was taking them some scraps and the hens got really excited and all swarmed one piece that just so happened to be where Hey Hey’s (Rooster) tail feathers were at. The poor dude started squawking and trying to run but he just kept running in place because they were all on his feathers.

He was very offended about it to say the least. Their feathers are just so pretty though, I’m really interested to see how long they’ll get (they grow longer every year).

Yeee they look a lot alike, I’m only able to tell who’s who based off their personalities. Their little manes are quite stunning, when they’re angry those feathers stick out to the side so they look like one of those frilled lizard’s.
