Now you know not to drink from a straw If shared misery makes you feel better I have a consultation about mine soon and I’m pretty certain all 4 of them will too. The question is just how soon.

I still don't know why I shouldnt...

But knowing me...the first time I'm gonna want to do after they are removed...is to go find a straw to suck on lol

From what I read it sounds like it creates a vacuum in your mouth and the pull can cause the blood clots to fall out of the holes. If that happens you’re left with a nice large gaping passageway directly to your nerves, which are no longer protected by your clot and can now be irritated by everything entering your mouth. Oh and I’m not sure if the clots can regrow, it seems like not on their own without help. Which would mean more visits. If this is true, which it seems to be what dentists say, it sounds like a very not pleasant time. I personally am going to avoid straws (not that I use them other than my bubble tea ones anyways)

I think regular drinking is fine too. Just not with any straw With a spoon you may get dehydrated pretty quick, spoons aren’t the most effective for that. Unless it’s a giant ladle I suppose

I hope so too because I’ve spent about 80 visits too many for medical reasons this year The fewer the better. Though it’s not impossible I’ll do two at once and two later on, I’m hoping not but we’ll see
