By surprise I mean... their debut wasn't well-received but they grew into a powerhouse over time? I love a good come-up/underdog story

I'm going to go with MONSTA X. Their debut song was underwhelming to many people and I remember they didn't really go viral until their second mini album? and that was mainly due to their dance video to "Hero", not the title track. I was a Monbebe back in the day and remember when that video only had like 50k-100k views. Now, their music videos are getting crazy amounts of views and it really surprises me how popular they are. Their music and their videos seem so much more polished now compared to the rough image they had when they debuted. Seriously, their latest album is so good.

Actually their debut was well received iirc but they slowly loss the hype and then regained the publics love again years later.
