I fear that NewJeans may never regain the popularity they had before their legal battle. Some fans have already moved on.​

I personally think Itzy... fans say that they've strayed from their concept and their recent songs aren't doing so well

not that I think they won't, but it's what I'm afraid of for BTS. like, when the Backstreet Boys came back from their AJ-going-to-rehab-induced hiatus, they never regained theirs. Sure, they had another hit in Incomplete, and they've charted a few more times after that, but I think they've since lost their spark.

With BTS, they were so popular in their heyday, almost if not equally as popular as BSB, and then they all enlisted almost at once without a trace of group material after Yet to Come. My pessimistic self is just like, "What if it happens to them, too?" I'm saying this mainly bc a lot of other groups have debuted and attracted boatloads of fans since their hiatus started, so maybe they'll be too focused on the other groups to give BTS another chance?

the issue with group's popularity is that the GP is a fickle creature these days

it used to be that you could release a GP friendly song and guarantee that it would chart somewhat well however that's no longer the case these days

plus coupled with the fact that we have three generations of groups in competition with one another (especially GG)

groups like the trinity of the 3rd - BP, Twice, RV are still relatively active
then the bulk of the 4th and now the young 5th gen...

Since I just posted all their recent releases, FTIsland. It's crazy how popular they were at their height. But it's nice they can still release music.

I'll be curious to see how their comeback does. The subunit debut sold ~94K, which is about a ~30K drop-off from the main group, so not terrible with it being only 3/7 members. But most sales for a group happen in the preorder period/first week and that's before people know what we're getting. I'll be curious to see if it drops off further with their next release or what.

I remember that someone on reddit wrote after their debut: "UAU's main problem isn't the different sound but the absense of LEEZ."

The songs on their mini album are just nice. I'm not sure if 'just nice' is good enough in view of the current pretty strong K-Pop generation - especially because Siyeon took the signature sound of Dreamcatcher with her.

I would say Itzy, I just feel like their fandom has been dying out and less people are listening to their recent releases, imo I feel like after they released "Cake" was when things started to go downhill
