Which kpop pipeline got you here? (1 Viewer)

So many fans i've talked to or are friends with have told me they fell down the jpop to kpop fan pipeline, or the otaku to kpop fan pipeline, or even backwards where they fall out of kpop and become jpop fans or anime fans. I personally think I fell down the just general internet geek to kpop fan pipeline and what I mean by internet geek is that I would be (and can say with confidence was) bullied for everything I liked. Shit didn't stop when I became a kpop fan either, I hated the latter half of middle school. But in highschool surprisingly I didn't get bullied for liking kpop despite how much I yap about it. It's just that when anything slightly kpop sounding becomes a topic of discussion everyone knows who to point to for reference. I actually made some friends who were into kpop in my time at my current hs (just in case it wasn't obvious already that I'm still a little dumdum baby child). I also feel like this has made me less ashamed to embrace my love for geeky things even pre-kpop because I realized none of that even mattered. highschool reputation won't matter 10 years from now, just give em the "fuck you"s and move on with your life

Chase Carneson brought me to K-Pop. Normally he prefers Modern Metal. When he reacted to a K-Pop group called Dreamcatcher the first time, I thought he lost his mind.




After I listened to 'PIRI' the first time too, I thought I would lose my mind.

When you listen to different Metal styles for decades, you probably don't expect that an artist can you really surprise anymore. My first contact with Dreamcatcher was like a wake-up call and shaked off my lethargy. But while Chase only reviewed a few Dreamcatcher songs, I went down the K-Pop rabbit hole.

Chase also brought me to Wagamama Rakia.
