I think it would be interesting to live an extended period of time only if my brain and body didn't deteriorate. When people think about living forever or at least, living an extended period of time, their body and mind will also age. Mental and physical immortality is a whole other thing, I think.

It would've been the perfect opportunity to quote Mobius from Loki and say "I don't know...time passes differently in the TVA."

I'm not going to say it! There might be some people who haven't seen it yet who live under a rock...and I've heard about the TV show! I haven't watched it because I figured it was something to keep the thing alive for younger kids. I had no idea it was based on an existing comic book either.

Yeah and imagine the stuff that you could learn and the things that you could do! We had a guest speaker in Supply Chain and Logistics class today and one of the things that he said that stuck with me was something like "money is something that we can always get more of, the only thing we can't get more of is time."

We never know when we're going to die so we should live life to the fullest, spend time with our loved ones, and enjoy the time that we have! Tomorrow is not promised.

My school is just special
Seriously tho...our school has so many programs for students. We have AP, IB, and college-concurrent classes, ofc, but we also have the IGNITE and NWTI programs where you leave school and that have hands-on special courses that you have to apply for and do an interview for taught by professionals (culinary, business, education, medical, filmmaking, auto repairs, engineering, etc.) and at the school, we have a program called CTE courses (which I forgot what they stand for). These courses are taught by certified teachers who formerly did the trade and they're based on different career paths. There is a branch of classes for students interested in FACS, agriculture, medicine, business, design, filmmaking, art, coding, sustainability etc. I'm interested in business so I'm taking business courses, including Supply Chain...

So in short, my school is pretty special. And we're a public school too! As long as you're in the zone, it's completely free to go here (even though there are some small fees for these classes)

Oh, I see. I'm pretty emotional when it comes to things in general. Movies really hit it for me.

we have good academic schools in australia but never ones with that many extra classes and whatnot...

Yep! Ikr? But if you were to ask other students at my school, they wouldn't care. They would hate that they are forced to go to school every weekday when they could be doing something else 🙂 But anyone I've met who's moved here from elsewhere has said it's way better than their old schools.

Also, we do have internships where the students can choose where they want to work (literally anywhere that's close by) and they'll be able to leave school for 2 class periods (roughly 3 hours). Or whenever during the week to complete their hours. Say I still worked at Wendy's during the school year but I did the internship program where I got to leave early to go work. That's 3 extra hours of paid work that I can also put on college resumes and help boost my overall GPA all at the same time. And still have a lot of time for homework and studying! But for just completing hours, I have a friend who chooses to do his internship at his job at a pizzeria but he only works on the weekends. That's 3 extra hours to either go home or do something else and you still get it! I wish I had taken advantage of it but I didn't know much about it (not every day). So I have to live with having regular school days.

You only do this for like 3 quarters out of the school year and the last one you don't leave early to go work but you do have to do a presentation on it.

Yeah. Everywhere is different. And this isn't all schools in America. This is only the two schools in my town's district (all the schools in my town and possibly surrounding smaller towns if they are too small to create their own school district)
