Once they explained who, that doesn't surprise me. Yuqi's Chinese fanbase is insane.

Prior to contract renewal, all income, including from solo activities, had to be split amongst all members equally.

I know this is common in idol groups contracts, but I could imagine that being frustrating if there's one member who does way more or way less solo stuff than the others. It's one thing to split the solo revenue if they're more or less working about the same, but it'd be another if only one member has 17 CFs or if only 4 out of 5 do tons of solo work.

yeah it makes sense, I don't know how popular Yuqi is in china.. but probably a lot

On the other hand, before you start, you mostly never know which or if anyone from the group will get a lot of solo work.. so it's kinda like a saftey net for the rest of the group? At least I assume, all idols would be happy to get opportunities, but many are not given the chance.. so they don't less because they don#t awnt to.. but because they are not allowed to

I can also see from the agency perspetive why it makes sense.. that way even one idol is favord and gets more work, maybe the climate in the group does not turn bad against that idol..?

also remember that chinese cfs and variety gigs and so forth earn more than korean ones (ceteris paribus) since China is a bigger market

also yuqi is a permanent guest on one of the most known and watched variety shows - Keep Running (Chinese equivalent of Running Man) which use to earn cast members a shit tonne of money and further endorsements

quite a bit especially in the second half of her gidle career
she is the only Chinese idol to have renewed her kpop contract but maintains a good balance between chinese activities and korean ones
