“Y’all were amazing,” Zoe gushed. “That one song, ‘Heartbreak Girl’ – will that be on your first album, by any chance?”
While they were talking, Daniel gave Luke Zoe’s CD, which he signed and gave back.
“It sure will be! The album will come out sometime next year. Is it safe to say you’ll be listening?”
“Oh, I’m a huge fan!”
“She couldn’t take her eyes off of you the whole time,” Daniel confessed, much to Zoe’s embarrassment.
“Daniel! I’m NOT getting with him; he’s too busy with the band!”
“Ma’am, please move along,” a security guard said to Zoe. “There are other fans waiting in line, and there’s only so much time before One Direction comes out.”
“Selfie?” Luke asked, gesturing to Zoe to give him her phone.
“Yes, one picture and then she’ll have to go back to her seat.”
“Sorry, sis,” Daniel said with a shrug.
After Luke took the selfie with Zoe, the siblings went back to their seats. That was when Zoe realized Luke hadn’t only signed his name, but he wrote down his number as well. Daniel chuckled at his sister’s shocked expression.
“Now, what were you saying about not getting with Luke?” he asked. “When a guy gives a girl his number, that usually means he likes her. I dare you to call him in the morning.”
“No! And before you say anything about how I need a father figure for the baby, that’s what I’ve got you and our parents for!”
“Well, I have my own family to make, and Mom and Dad said they were done raising babies ages ago. What harm would it do to just pick up the phone, dial this number, and see where it takes you?”
Zoe sighed. “I’ll sleep on it.”
