Why are Kpop fans so attracted to rappers? (1 Viewer)

I mean, I do love a good rap in certain songs, but I feel like people think everyone else is second rate to a good rapper.
It's like when I watch people's reactions to certain groups that I love and then the rapper comes on, people will completely fan girl/boy over the rapper a lot more than the other members.

It's like with Dami from Dreamcatcher, they seem to love her more because she has a good rap voice and the same with Soyeon from (G)I-DLE.

It's also like when people like Gahyeon a lot more now that they know she can rap.
Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate what rappers can do, but it doesn't make them 150% more attractive to me.

That's true. I think maybe like a 'cool' type of vibe and people seem to love that.

I think it might be easier to stand out with rap, since everyone sings a line or two anyways no matter if they are good at it or not. But even huge groups usually don't have more than 2 rappers

People love idols with charisma and rappers are good at giving off that kind of image like I saw someone say Mimi slayed them from hers and YooAs Checkmate stage

Well there is some exceptions but if you look at members popularity in Kpop groups, the main rapper is not often the most popular member or it’s also because of others factors such as personality and visuals.

For newbies who react to a group for the first time, the rapper will immediately stands out as they have a different role from the others.

And rappers like Soyeon and Dami are really good so they deserve the praise even though to be honest it’s not the case for all Kpop rappers. These two are also very charismatic. They have this it factor.

Gahyeon gained more lines and so more visibility when she began to rap. It also proved that she is more talented and versatile than some people would have thought.

they have a cerstain swagger about them that certain vocalists dont have. the gestures, the cocky attitude (which unless on stage i dont like tbh) they exude confidence (soyeon, mark, chanyeol, etc)
