Why are so many people disappointed with Dreamcatcher's BOCA? (2 Viewers)

Because honestly, it's still such a different Kpop MV than other Kpop MV's and let's face it, if Blackpink, or TWICE, or Red Velvet or even BTS released this, it would be a massive hit.
So, because it's Dreamcatcher and it's not what people expect for them, people hate it, so I don't get it.
Yes, they are kind of straying from their original sound, but they are also evolving and as an artist, you have to reinvent yourself and it still has the rock, dark themed content that we got into Dreamcatcher for.

So, why all the hate?

Don't hate, just disappointed in the change of sound. They're sounding more like something someone more mainstream/public friendly would do and it's a shame to me, really, in a day and age where most of kpop sounds so much of the same thing rehashed in different ways. Before, they were different enough to be more noticeable and refreshing. Now it's less of that. I still enjoy their music, but it's slowly losing that "wow" factor.

Well this is true, but they still sound like Dreamcatcher and it's still pretty unique, but I do get where you are coming from.
I just watched it again and you are right that they are sounding more kpoppy.
They have been sounding more kpoppy since Piri though, so why are we expecting anything different? Plus it's kpop, so I can understand why they are slowly swaying towards mainstream.

When Scream was released and then Endless Night, someone said that they wouldn't mind if they released Japanese songs for the Japanese audience and Korean songs for the kpop audience, but still keep their sound.

Do people really hate it tho? I think they still like it, but feel some of their past material was better. That can happen as a group changes/evolves its sound. Some original fans feel left behind while some newer fans might be brought in.

I know what you mean and I was severely disappointed when they started to sway mainstream but then I learned to accept it because they are not going to keep their original sound if they want to go to new heights and I can completely agree with you that the original fans do get left behind, but the truth is, either be left behind or learn to adapt.

Can't say the same for me, they've kinda gotten generic
Fancy and Feel Special I still like, and the B-sides are great but not More & More lmao. It fell off hard for me.

Well, it looks like they will never go back to their original sound now, especially since they are becoming a lot more popular.
They are becoming a lot more mainstream, but that doesn't mean their music and concept is like any other Kpop group and I feel like they have found their sound that they are going forward with to try and get a music show win because that's what I think they definitely want.

As long as they are always unconventional and don't follow the kpop standards and keep the Dreamcatcher sound, I can always get on board with them.

I hit like even on songs that I personally think are average. Because at the end of they day, it's not like I don't like it.
