Why can’t group stick to one concept? (2 Viewers)

different strokes for different folks my friend

people stans / fav groups for different reasons
some are related directly to the music, others visuals, personalities, group cohesion, company stans, success stans, etc etc

the closest example is like an actor or actress who doesn't want to get shoed in one genre and tries different things like action and romance and horror etc etc to expand their range

for kpop groups there are a mirad of reasons why they might want to change concepts: they mature, their company forced them, they weren't selling/charting well and wanted a change, hell maybe even the members themselves wanted to

and with that maybe they'll lose some fans in the process and maybe they'll gain some new ones...

That's pretty normal in Western music too. When I don't like a new album of a favorite band, I skip that album and wait for the next one. So it's no big deal for me that 'Apocalypse: Save Us' is the last Dreamcatcher album I purchased so far. I'm no completist.

and that's fair - if one doesn't like the music coming out of one's favs one doesn't have to listen to it...(it's probably me) but I highly doubt one likes every song their fav's put out...

and if a group's entire concept changed and one is no longer connected with the group then one can either wait for the next album, listen to a previous album or in extreme circumstances - move on to a different group...

I mean, I can also understand it from the artist’s perspective, they probably also want to try new things
Groups like Twice or Apink probably don’t want to release songs/concepts like NoNoNo or Cheer Up their whole career long
And I also think both groups did a good job changing their concepts

I kinda agree, sometimes I get the impression that non fans start to spin the narrative that groups get boring if they don't change their concepts and the groups / labels get tricked into believing it. Afterwards the original fans of that group migth end up dissapointed. as the music is too different now
