Why do folks tend to not photosensitive epilepsy serious? (1 Viewer)

I've seen many incidents online where a user posts video content with flashing jump cuts or blaring bright light that can trigger seizure in people with photosensitive epilepsy. Usually people politely ask them in the comments to put a warning on the content next time if they post these things often but it results in an angry response from the poster for some odd reason. They go on a rant about how social media has made people become entitled and how "tiktok isn't made for you sensitive people and if flashing lights can be fatal for your health you shouldn't be allowed on this app anyways" not only is this bullshit because TikTok itself has implemented an accessibility feature to put a grey blur and warning message on top of any content they identify as containing flashing imagery to protect the viewer, it's also just an ignorant and frankly ableist take in general. That's like if you went to a restaurant while having a deathly tree nut allergy and when you ask the server to list options that would accommodate your allergy they get cross and whine about sensitive youths always wanting to be babied. It's not much to just put a 5-10 second intro in front of the video mentioning that it contains flashing to protect the person watching. I don't have epilepsy myself but due to my refractive error I also have photosensitivity and can feel a really irritating burning/strain sensation when faced with bright light or fast moving flashes. It's like pouring cleaning chemicals in my eyes while simultaneously trying to keep them wide open. But back on topic, do folks not understand that seizures can genuinely be fatal. I'm lucky myself to only be in mild to severe discomfort in the eyes, people can be immobilized in all parts of the body from even the most benign seizure. If you think it's too much effort to out a small warning at the beginning of your video I may or may not just think you're lazy

I don't have epilepsy, but I do tend to get overstimulated. I had to leave a Chainsmokers concert early bc it was getting too much - the noise, the flashes. I'm already legally deaf/blind, I don't need to be even more so!
