Why do kids do this nowadays? (1 Viewer)

They record these "trends" in the car, most not even old enough to be on YouTube, and they wither get nervous and barely even mouth the words and do the thing right or they actually do it and risk their parents thinking they're insane. I know for a fact that if my mom saw me doing this, she'd think i was crazy. Like, most people do this in their room.. At home.... Look out the window in the car... Much more entertaining than the phone or talk to whoever is driving. I fear for this next generationm

I don't watch those clips. Sometimes I stumble upon YouTube clips like the one I posted above when I search for AGT videos. There are very talented kids out there, that's for sure.

Yea, i enjoy watching those, but these kids get made fun of and i feel bad but at the same time i don't bc they've literally went against yt guidelines as most are under 13... Idk, it jsut irks me 😭

Ngl, this is only because you're more aware of things happening in general. It's both a mental development thing and bc you likely use the internet more often than before. This isn't me talking down to you, I'm speaking from experience. Things were still bad (and in some cases, much worse) in the past. You just didn't have the cognition to be aware of it. Nostalgia also causes things to seem better than they were. These two points are something many people never learn.
A bit off-topic, I guess. But these conversations complaining about younger generations have always bothered me

Yea, i literally did not have access to internet until 2020 and i really didn't actually start watching a lot of videos (like venturing out to different genres and stuff) until 2023 🫠
