I get that people say RV’s discography is better but aren’t they forgetting about image? Why do they think BPink is so popular in the West despite having few songs. Imagine western American people watching RV perform Rookie, it would leave a bad taste in their mouth even if RV has Psycho. And I personally prefer Rookie 10x over sleep inducing Psycho.
So, no, RV wouldn’t be more popular than Aespa in America if SM pushed them. And neither would Aespa be that big with their techno concept because it’s too nerdy for most Americans.

Twice has a loyal/dedicated fandom working hard to get their numbers up, but as far as regular fans or casual fans, nope. BPink wins over them in terms of overall American popularity

a loyal dedicated fanbase in america that is, not the overall fandom. and never said they surpassed bp, bp obviously is more in the talks because they have more appearances (mostly non music related) and doesn't cancel out the fact that they're the biggest gg right after bp in the us and the world rn. having sold out a stadium in the us, 3 top 10 albums and 4 songs eligible for gold certification in the US

and its painful to watch, cause bp had created a large fanbase already in the 3 years of debut, but with aespa, things are still brewing

I don’t think Red Velvet could survive in the west, its such a saturated and competitive market. But even so, their discography, although good in my opinion, doesn’t appeal to the west, whereas aespa has a chance. Red Velvet sticks to cute or classical sounds more or less whereas aespa has an EDM type vibe to them. EDM is huge in the west right now especially as “club bangers”.
