I mean, there's not really that many lesbian movies/dramas to begin with, but when there is, it is usually depressing and tragic.
It's like these movies are telling young girls not to be gay because it will end up bad for you lol

I do know a few lesbian movies/drama's with a happy ending, but the sad stories outweigh the happy stories.

They actually have whole classes, books, etc. on this topic because it's really historically how lesbian media has been written and there's a lot to research on it. Part of it is that in the past (aka late 1800's early 1900's) censorship required gay and lesbian novels to not allow the gay couple to be together in the end. Thus many stories have the characters either die (bury your gays trope) or one of the people involved in the relationship become apart of a heterosexual relationship in the end. Both things serve to confirm heterosexuality is the norm and anything else will just lead you to suffering.

A lesbian novel that was very influential and kind of shaped people's perception that this is how lesbian novels have to be is "The Well of Loneliness" by Radclyffe Hall. It's one of the original tragic lesbian stories and a lot of lesbian novels since have been modeled after it.

Personally I wish that we could break from past tropes and ideas where we can make happier stories that don't conform to hetero-normative ideology.
