Why do you think so very few newbies leave after their intro post? (1 Viewer)

It´s a genuine question, not a sarcastic remark. I have noticed that a lot of people post their intro and then they ... never become active. Why do you think is that? Is it like shyness? (but why posting intro in the first place? I´d be like "too much effort for nothing") or is there something specific that is making people leave? I mean, maybe someone might come up with something ... maybe someone had felt like leaving after a day or two too, so I´m curious.

Obviously I´m one of those people that were born to annoy others :D.

That's a great question actually, I think maybe they just want to read the threads and not necessarily have to reply, idk

You know, that's a great question and I never really thought about it?
I think some people might've joined with the intention of posting, but nothing on here really interested them? Plus without any preexisting friends on the forum, it can be hard to just jump into conversations.

Hmm Idk either, but I guess they just join casually or think they'll be active but it seems like too much of an investment in time and effort? Obviously we have the select few who stick around and go on to last for quite a while, but I think this might happen in a lot of forums where people join, make a few posts and then hiatus lol.

yeah, you are right. I hope more people stick around. though tbh, I do prefer the smaller places as they usually allow people to get closer easier? but I suppose it would be better for the forum in general, if we had more people around?

I think a lot of it boils down to not feeling like they have anything to really say so end up lurking instead and then feeling left out a lot of the time

and the issue is more obvious when kps is smaller

I joined a Got7 forum with the intention of posting, buuuuuuut yeah, never got past the intro thread. It was basically bc it was just so dead! The last time someone had posted at the time was something like three weeks prior (probably exaggerating, but you get my point). For reference, the forum was called Oh My Got7.

Yeah new users are the life and blood of the forum lol, obviously we have some from the OG squad still kicking around but eventually people get busy or bored or just need a break, so a steady flow of new and active users always keeps the forums alive
KPS has gone through some dead stretches of time where activity slowed down but whenever a fresh batch of new users appear, business picks up again

I stick to this forum out of familiarity. Not knowing people, or the chance to get warnings for unexpected reasons makes it difficult for me to stick to a forum.
