While men value increases with age?

I read an article years ago that said a woman is at her most powerful between the age of 15 and 25.

And men are at the peak of their power between the age of 30 and 60.

Do you agree with this assessment? That article was written by a woman too.

Women are valued on their beauty while men are valued on their success is what it sounds like although the age 15 is concerning if it's that.

No I don't agree with that as thinking women are at their most powerful in school is ridiculous. The men one seems more accurate although I'd say the upper portion is less than 60.

There needs to be more context what is meant with value and power.

Cause for sure 15-25 years old women aren't powerful, men that age aren't either. If you think just about job positions people around that age usually have there is no power there. They aren't rich either. And if 15 year old girl is trying to convince older people that her opinion is right one, people will disminish it based on age alone.

If it's meant as power over another sex, I guess that can make sense, but then it's simply about appeal of these age groups to other sex. I don't know how much power I would say that is. And it's simply outside value from other sex then based on sex appeal.. not that important.

That's so highly dependent on the culture and no I don't believe that's the case. It's different everywhere though

Do you remember anything else about the article. It seems a bit vague what info you gave us?
I don't really think age and power is relevant: At least to me.

what matters is what you do during those times, not how you got there.
I may be thinking of another analogy

Money is power, power is wealth. (it doesn't make the person) In fact makes them hollow, if nothing else.

Value? Are they being sold on AliExpress? :dubuthink:

Really, what kind of 'value' and for whom? Because for me, my grandma holds more value than all old men on this planet combined.

Now, if we're talking about power to attract the opposite sex, while no one gets hotter when old, money does play a big role for a chunk of society, and ability to generate more money does rise by age (usually). Thing is, while rich old men can attract a younger and hotter woman, a rich old woman has no problem at getting hot young guys for some horizontal tango either, she's just wise enough to not marry one.

Powerful at 15? How? In what way?
A grown woman wrote this...?

I'm just guessing here - is it because of fertility, maturity (disregarding teenagers)....? With the age group, it's still weird to guess these. And I'm guessing the men's age group is for maturity, finally getting their stuff together...?
So does that mean women just aren't it anymore at 26? That means I have two years left in me then I'm done being valuable.
What... is she saying...???

Anyway, I disagree. That's ignorant. Value isn't measured by age.

thinking that someone is the most powerful when they're still a minor is ridiculous imo.

I'm guessing the age for women is so young cause of beauty and desirability and fertility.

I know yall dont like to hear it but beautiful teenage girls are extremely powerful. Especially in media. Just look at kpop for example. Its always the youngest members that are the most popular. And just in general the older a group gets the less popular they become. Boy groups last longer than girl groups on average.

Even taking that aspect of it into account it's a very narrow minded view of the world and kpop isn't a great example as it is a very narrow minded industry like take for example the kpop aspect well that's unlikely to be more than 10% of women in the world so how could that correlate to an accurate average?

I agree its narrow minded. But it's hard to deny that women are judged on their looks and men judged on their success.

It happens but it's something that won't just go overnight even if the view now is considered pretty outdated as people realise stuff like not every single person wants kids.

Exactly, that's why women in politics are hot while men are ugly!
Angela Merkel and Theresa May are my visual queens :maheart:

Anyway, fellow comrades, drop kpop for opera and be enlightened:

Don't forget to vote on M Countdown!

Ofc so many women are paid attention to and seem powerful bc of beauty, but that doesn't work that way for a female CEO or official for example. Problem is, still in 2020 men are more successful in most fields, but you can't ignore all successful women around the world anyway.

It depends on the country. The part about woman is also still a misogynistic thinking. Every person is valuable no matter age, beauty, or position in society.

.... so I guess you have a thing for germans
Germany is awesome! :sanapray:

ghhfjshjsj My point was that when it comes to actual positions of power in society, in politics and business, conventional attractiveness and youth aren't really that important for women (compared to kpop and entertainment). Even in history, you see that super-powerful women like Queen Victoria or Catherine The Great weren't exactly 'visuals'.

But anyway, Angela can get it! :llama_flirt:
