Gorillas prefer to walk on both their hands and feet. Their arms are actually longer than their legs. Gorillas use the bavks of their fingers as extra feet when they walk. This is called the “knuckle walk”. While their fingers act as extra feet, their toes act the same as human hands do. A gorilla can use its big toe to grab food or climb trees.​
