i don't stan skz but i don't hate the man because, well, i'm pretty tolerant towards these things (i disagree with cancel culture and i disagree with the fact that some people get painted as evil spawns of satan for a few ignorant views). i think people lack compassion and can't distinguish between acts of ignorance and acts of malice.

despite this, i don't exactly appreciate some of Chan's behavior either. i find him a bit corny in general and the things he's done lately are in very poor taste. replacing the n word with something similar is basically finding a way to say it without getting the backlash for it.

i don't think hating on him and whatnot is correct but i completely understand why people are upset and outraged, specially with a guy like him, who presented himself as the "woke" type of person who wouldn't do these kinds of things. i wouldn't really be in the mood to be appreciative of him right now either, if i were a fan.

i truly hope he grows up and stops using black culture as an aesthetic because it's really affecting people, including those in his fandom
The ninja song was released years ago tho...

he sang it recently in a vlive so he seems to be in the same mindset he was in when he released it :/
Not necessarily, he probably didn't even think of the fact that line is in that song.

He probably doesn't think about it that often and he was just putting a 3racha song on.

He isn't omnipotent and isn't able to think of every line and everything that might go wrong, especially being as overworked as he is

i mean.. if you watch the video he seems to be very aware of what he's saying, specially since he pauses in-between lines, he's not just playing the song in the background.

i do agree he can't be aware of everything but that doesn't change the fact that he most likely doesn't get what the problem with what he's doing is. it's very hard to learn from your mistakes if all people are doing is posting angry tweets on social media instead of having someone sit you down and calmly explain things to you.

at this point i'm just gonna hope he matures over time and people aren't too cruel towards him because, again, i don't think he's doing this out of malice. he doesn't strike me as evil

At this point stray kids really need a suho ... somebody boring who will always give the safest answer to everything while everybody else stays silent

It going be like RM all over again he will get hated on until they have a massive hit written by him then fans will jump on him and make out they loved him the whole time
Except that RM educated himself for real, spoke about what he learnt with his fans, apologized multiples times and didn’t do it ever again.

Chan could have just skipped this part. No need to cancel him because of that.

Not racist but he said the n-word in the past because he didn’t know what it means. It’s old news. I think that it was in 2013-2014.

But I am curious why did you think that the fans criticize him if not for that ?

I don’t think that Chan is truly racist. I don’t hope so but if he continues to multiply this kind of accident while acting woke, it’s going to be a real problem for that.

Actually RM received hate for his looks but it’s was more from the antis that the fandom. J-hope is the member who used to be truly targeting by the fandom because of his visuals.

for a lot of stays, it is considering the fact that chan has said that hes educated on this type of stuff... and it doesnt matter if the song was old, he sang it on a vlive recently. and he wrote that song didnt he? he said ninja instead of the n-word. while yes it's good that he didn't say the n-word, he chose a word that sounds a lot like it? and listening to it... it doesnt make any sense why ninja is in that verse other than the fact that it sounds a lot like the n-word... he could have easily said people or something else. im not black personally but this is the reason why a lot of black stays are mad in general... and it's completely understandable.
this is the original video that was on his vlive recently

As an international fan I have a lot of interaction of stays from varying races. I’m sorry that this is insensitive but I’m very frustrated with the behavior of stays towards chan: stays are justified to RESPECTFULLY call out chan on this. But there is absolutely no way to argue that they are overreacting, not in the sense that they aren’t allowed to be upset about the situation, but specially in the their manner of “calling him out”. I joined the fandom relatively recently (after the release of the song and his braided look) and based on the response of fans I literally thought that chan had actually used the n word or said something racist, but then I looked into it and I was like...what? That’s it? Yes. Ningas could b misheard or interpreted in a racist way, but no, this does not make chan himself racist or deserving of being cancelled. Honestly, the braided look was largely in the hands of the staff (who may not be as educated on the sensitive nature of cultural appropriation ) and while chan should have said something, it was most likely not his personal choice to style himself that way. Finally, especially in the wake of sulli, I don’t think fans realize how this excessive canceling culture is affecting chan. He has apologized and continues to do everything he can for stay and his members (such as weekly vlives) yet all he gets in response are hate comments (I mean LOOK at his most recent vlive comments). His response to Woojin leaving literally broke my heart... it said he is “always sorry” as if he accepts and expects his own fandom to consistently hate and cancel him. Honestly I know I went off in this but this is the summary. Chan was wrong:yes. Stay had the right to call him out and be upset. Chan apologized and did everything he could to show that he was sorry and that he should b better than his past actions. But stay took being offended to an excessive scale, in turn normalizing the idea of hating on chan to the point where it turned a massive movement where some new stay literally hate him without even knowing why. And ultimately, nobody (including chan) deserves this much continual hate and the effects it has personally.
