I feel as though repack albums are just so lazy. a cheap cash grab. like what's the point of putting old songs on a new album? what's the point of putting so much effort into a repackage as if its a new comeback when in reality it's just a bunch of old songs with maybe a few new songs put on one "album". you might as well just make a new album, you'd get more sales and people who are interested in the comeback.

this along with the constant release of mini albums instead of full albums... but that's a completely different thread that ill save for another day.

I don't mind them seeing as it's a marketing/sales tactic that so many agencies use that it's kinda pointless for me to get upset over every single one so i'm just kinda whatever about it, but I can say that I really appreciate it when there's more than 2 songs on a repackage :wimwim:

I don't mind repackage albums when they're done right and not done frequently. when there are new quality songs on it and its not just a few songs. also, it becomes even more apparent as a cash grab when they do it a month after an actual come back. and when it's done constantly it's just redundant to me.

I think a good example of a repackage done right is love yourself: answer by bts, because it had 7 new songs on it, some remixes and longer versions of solos that everybody wanted.

a repackage album isn't an album but they know fandoms care too much about album sales to say anything

Yes BTS has treated me well so maybe that's why i'm not bothered by it so much, but SM still hurts me when they put out a Taeyeon repackage after every full album so ig i'm not totally off the hook

exactly, like they're basically just re-gifting an older album with a new cover and fans think its something new?? :sanathink:

Better than mini albums with only one new song and different versions of past songs
Like at least repacks are called repacks, when they make minis with old songs I'm just like :jisoosmh:
Same with instrumental versions in minis

ehh it's still weird to me because these companies will put repacks out constantly after literally every single comeback lol. I wouldn't mind it if it were done less frequently but it just gets to a point where its annoying.

Yeah of my two ults BAP had one repack total and Shinee had 3, and both were very good and had really good songs added so I'm lucky in that regard

Bruh even if its not labeled repackage album
BlackPink and winner’s latest albums/mini albums are like this. They have a bunch of remixes or versions of their previous songs on their “new” album and barely have any new tracks.

but a good example of a Good repacked album would super junior’s mr.simple/acha in 2011 - the repack had 6 new tracks
As well as 2010 Bonamana which had 5 new tracks.
There’s not much other good:decent repackage albums I can think of- maybe some of shinee’s but not really

The good old days thou
don't even get me started on ygs album tactics... I still have ptsd from when kill this loves tracklist was revealed...
