I was on an app which was dedicated to mental health and chatting about your feelings... but even the rules are : i agree i don't have suicidal thoughts. As soon as you tell the bots stuff like :"i think of hurting myself" it bans you from chatting.

Is this really a way to do it? Bc if person x is feeling like hurting themselves, limiting them from talking even on mental health related places,is gonna put them in more danger.

So many people take it easy and post hotline numbers but not everyone chatting in English lives in the US/not all countries have hotlines.

Just why is it that? Also this is a general discussion, nothing related to me.

I think many apps and such are afraid that teens and why not adults as well will encourage it. Like in tumblr there used to be "pro-ana" = pro-anorexia communities that would encourage each other to starve themselves. Tumblr also blocks some tags like anorexia because of it, but the downside for that is that people can't discuss it in productive way. Blocking certain tags don't really help the problem that though since people just figure out work arounds and those blogs still exist.

What the hell that sounds so weird. Anorexic people don't even look good aside not being healthy, why even encourage that.

some people on tumblr are weird like that
I once got into an argument with someone who said that she was woke and started shaming trans folks a sentence later, saying how they were unnatural

Pro ana still exists on basically all social medias. The proana tag isn’t even blocked on tumblr they just show a warning before the results.
