I realized this every time companies owned by men kick out or restrict women idols from appearing in Korean media, and they don’t call it abuse of power. But when a woman has to raise her voice to fight for her dignity in an industry completely hostile to her gender she is seen as a demon and branded as a “power tripper”/gapjil. Male criminals are shielded by both deluded fans and companies. But often times women get little or no support. Boy groups get their share of hate but it’s tied to their success, while girl groups can be hated for literally no reason. The amount of hate Momoland received for just existing was staggering. This coming from a generation of fans who say they are pro feminist.
