Queen Elizabeth II was not a slave owner but her family’s wealth came from slavery. And even today there’s British royals getting rich from slave labor in African mines. Yet anytime a POC says something about it they get told to shut up and it caused some to feel anger about their voices being silenced. Professor Uju Anya is one of those people. You have to realize why people feel angry and why despite superficial gestures the continuance of colonialism hasn’t ended even after the death of a figurehead.

to add, as an indian, the british monarchy stole about 45 trillion pounds from india itself. when they came india had about 40% of the global trade share, when they left it was down to about 2 percent. they slaughtered, massacred and treated indians like slaves, sent them to far away lands. not only that, they also stole billions worth of natural resources, including the kohinoor diamond which is on the crown, which they still haven’t returned till date. needless to say, i do not mourn her death at all.

Just correcting you, she's wrong for a lot of things but the last tweet isn't her. It's some other random atrocious lady in Vietnam.
Those clothes are also very Edwardian and wouldn't have been worn by the time she reached adulthood.
