I think at this point we've all heard about the nazi party. Who they were lead by primarily, how they hurt people, when it happened, and most predominantly the messages and symbols carried by them. I'm sure you've all seen the hakenkruez (also called swastika) be used by people who are still in support of the nazi party or its then held values. A lot of discourse in the past 2 years has uprise in certain communities about folks who are ignorant and wear the sign unaware of the implications of doing so. Primarily these actions are found offensive to folks who are Jewish as they were the primary target by the party, but I as a non Jewish person still take high offense to thes3 things.
1. Many fail to recognize that the violenc3 inflicted by the nazi's was targeted to multiple demographics. Black people, the disabled, queer or homosexual people, Polish people, Romanis, etc and possibly more that historians have yet to unearth evidence for. The objective of this first bullet point is to emphasize that I do also feel a significance in people displaying Nazi emblems and spread the rhetoric given I'm neurodevelopmentally disabled, queer, and a black person.
2. Seeing people display these symbols gives me a message that they're ignorant fools who refuse acknowledge their faults or move with the times. Being a nazi is always bad 2025 or 1945 but to present yourself with ideologies that have been proven false and contributed to blood spilling by the millions that you feel no remorse for, just you wearing that symbol flashes that image in my head. That if we were back in the early 1900s you'd love to sit by and watch children die because they're not Christian and white, oh I'm sorry I mean "superiorr Germanic people". I don't typically call these folks neo-nazis, I drop the neo and just say nazi. The prefix neo implies somethings new. The only thing new about them holding their ideology is that we're in a new society that is completely detached from the timefrsme that holding their beliefs was considered acceptable in. A new person being born and being an idiot doesn't make them a neo-idiot, it just makes them an idiot.
I hope this thread broadens someone's perspective or at least makes them better understand the perspectives of others on this topic

Yes. Just in case there's any confusion, I'm referring to when it is used in tilted form. It's technically more accurately called hakenkruez (literally a crooked cross) but many still refer to it with the name of swastika as that's more commonly used. It's only not okay in the context of the nazi's because the stole it and used it to spread hate

It's also interesting why Hitler was interested in that symbol.

also i get it u can be mad bc yes alot of people were affected but we focus on Jewish people
