It depends, the Japanese trainees on PD48 did it. They'll probably have two separate crews, one in Korea and one in Japan plus the trainees' companies will probably cover the plane tickets so all the network would have to pay for is the coaches flights and the director maybe a couple of others but not that many.

i dont think individual trainees would be able to afford that or small companies
say they are in the top 10 thats like 10 flights what is 60 pounds per flight

Well the edits usually tend to favour trainees from larger companies anyway plus I'd imagine the TV network would cover the independent trainees flight costs.

If it is going to have Mnet's usual hard to sit through editing then I'm not even going to be able to watch the entire first episode fully. Mnet's habit of repeating the same shot 10 times in a row makes it very very difficult for me to sit through their survival shows. That and the fact that pretty much all survival shows are like rigged.

I don't think it's being produced by Mnet, they are just renting the sets from Mnet.

If Mnet just produced it, it wouldn't be a problem. It's mostly the editing for me. Annnnd maybe the casting too.

Produced as in charge of episodes airing on tv, planning the show, research materials, props, scripts, hiring production teams, supervising the production teams (aka making sure that filming happens smoothly, everything is filmed in time and stays within budget).
Soo everything a producer would do minus the occasionally having a say in casting. I don't feel comfortable having Mnet in charge of that. And by Mnet obviously I mean a few people from that company as representatives.

Also if Mnet is lending out sets, then technically it is in a sort of Producer role. There's a lot of different kinds of producers and honestly I'm still grasping the role myself so the explanation may be a bit off.... But the editing noooo, give the entire editing to another company please. Along with the casting.

Yeah but you have to remember that the only reason that Koreans are boycotting Japan is because the Japanese government is refusing to compensate the Korean workers that they enslaved during WW2 so I can understand why the GP are so riled up in this case.

Is that the reason? I heard that the Japanese actually offered to compensate the Korean workers that were enslaved a long time ago but Korea refused saying that they would compensate them but the money never reached the people. I heard that Korea has repeatedly broken many laws during trade so Japan took them off their white list. Both sides are saying different things and it's so confusing

Aside from that, I have studies so I probably wont be able to watch it :(

None of them was enough attractive to catch my attention and wants to root for him or follow the show

I already finish off episode 2. Actually I wasn't really interested in it until I saw a contestant name Ikumi Hiroto...he kinda rminded me of Haenamie ;_;
