Honestly, for a rookie group, they seem to be doing extremely well, in fact, they just got their 5th win for Icy.
I have a really good feeling that if they somehow manage to get the equivalent song to Twice's "Cheer Up" or "TT" in terms of success, they will surpass Twice's success. (Not that it's a bad thing lmao, Twice has a pretty amazing fanbase and are set for their careers tbh)

Literally, why is every JYP GG so successful lmao, Wonder Girls, Miss A, Twice, Itzy, all of them killing the industry. o.o

possibly? a lot of people don't like "cute concepts" but at the same time itzy is quite out of the box and might not appeal to everyone. no hate to twice or itzy though i love them both.

Honestly, I'm wondering how long Itzy can last with that concept and sound. Miss A, WG and especially Twice had concepts that were pretty much universally appealing and relatable.

Itzy is teen crush, who knows how long that'll be sustainable

Hmm it’s a bit early to say, but sure, they have potential to go big. It depends on their future songs

with the way that twice is going now, I dont think so. twice basically have their own little empire over japan in terms of kpop girl groups, they have a sold-out dome tour (theyre the first to do so btw) and they have multiple hits under their belt, their physical sales are also probably the best in terms of kpop girl groups these days. twice dont really seem to be slowing down. itzy is still new, while they did have a pretty successful debut, they still need time to develop their own style, develop a bigger fandom, and get more of the gp appeal that twice has. I think we should still wait and see what they can do before comparing them to twice. and tbh even if itzy did have a big national hit, there are still a lot of big girl groups that they have to pass to even get to twice, or even in the top 3 girl groups. btw this isnt hate on itzy, theyre all talented and they are doing pretty successful for being rookies.

It's hard to predict how successful they will become, so ultimately time will tell

As multifanboy mentioned earlier they are very out of the box and I agree with it, because their songs sound different than most main-stream K-pop. But at the same time, I think they are in the proces of 'discovering' themselves with these new concepts, which seems to work very well with their teenage look.

Their singing and dancing talents are absolutely top notch for rookies, so I believe they will become bigger in the future when their concept begins to narrow down

Only when TWICE retires they have a huge chance to do so. TWICE influence comes from their CFs, tbh.

I don't think they will because what will plague Itzy is something that Twice did not have to deal with and that is that most fans are not looking for new groups unlike as when Twice, Gfriend, Mamamoo, Red Velvet and Blackpink rose to fame there was fans very much looking for new groups as 2nd generation groups were disbanding/going inactive.

For Itzy and other groups though without such fans it means they are fighting to take away fans from others which is going to make it incredibly hard to match Twices album sales as by the earliest the top groups now reach the 7 year mark, Itzy will already be in their 3rd year.
