Just thinking about nct concept
there so many possibilities i haven't considered yet

obv main one to ask..
1. non east asian member
i think it safe to say yes.. fans were open to possibilities of hrvy debuting
obv they wont be in Korean units but American, African ,Europe

2. Debuting older than 26
Once again i think yes
as members will leave or get older
i.e i see ballad unit with taeil after military with prob new older member

3. a girl
id say deffo no.. it just wouldn't work
as the controversy will always be there

4. openly gay/ bi etc
yes.. especially in a Thai/European unit
aka countries what are open to it

5. trans..
im talking female to male
as much as i want to say yes
it still controversial in western countries
so imma say most likely not
unless nct lasts past 50 years

6. Younger than 14

as the rule only is for sm
and wayv has it own company
and china has multiple young boy groups
i think there a chance of at youngest 10 year old debut

@NCTzen

Definitely no, doesn't even have to explain why
Gay is a prob due to fact there is mutiple idols coming out now
nct isnt just a korean group and is growing everyday
and when nct debuts a unit in a open country if a member comes out they wont be kicked out due to the hate nct would get if they did so

If ten came out now
and sm kicked him out
The fandom would go mad
1. he is thai a were being gay is legal and legal marriage was approved and pending to go threw
2. fans across seas from america/europe/australia etc would go mad and thats majority of nct fans

Who? When?

Considering that they would only debut units in asian countries, Thailand isn't that open, having LGBT rights isn't the only thing that shows how homophobic a country is.

This is really not gonna happen so we don't need to discuss this

1. Maybe? Like you said, if they do, the members would probably promote elsewhere. If they end up promoting in east asia, the members would probably have to conform to their beauty standards.
2. This one I'm a little skeptical of, but knowing NCT's system, it's more likely to happen.
3. Yeah a girl definitely wouldn't work in NCT
4. Probably. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the current members came out either.
5. I don't think this one is going to happen anytime soon.
6. I doubt this one is going to happen mainly because younger idols have so many restrictions on them that would make it hard for them to work.

???
I'm a gay man
ok was just concerned

Hansol came out
D.I.P had multiple lgbt member but had a gay couple in it the group ended due to there break up
Holland a openly gay soloist [but he more a youtube idol than kpop tbh]
Marshall Bang soloist artist more than idol
etc

Taeyong uncle is also a openly gay [in korea] celebrity and taeyong openly supports him

Taiwan has same sex marriage
Thailand are speaking about same sex marriage
Taiwan legalized a third gender option this year

for pure fact sm has announced units
*NCT to Japan, Southeast Asia, America, Europe, Australia and even up to Africa *
Europe and Australia will most likely having openly gay members

and for a gay man not to think there any hope in asia for lgbt is pretty sad
[im a gay man also]

1. yeh i was thinking more america, europe and africa units, they may be mixed but i cant see them doing well with only full east asian line ups
2. Well my feeling is purely from how old kun was at debut [22] and pure fact he could of debutted in 2016 cause he was in sm
4. it very unlikely all 23 members are straight
5,same
6, in korea not in other countries i can list mutiple groups currently active under age of 14
also in japan etc etc korea is prob the best for child protection within east asia [work wise]

All this people have the same thing in common: Don't take me wrong but tey don't have a significant career in musical industry and coming out unfortunately is like wanting to ending yours.

We still have a lot to dream if we wanna see a big idol coming out in the future.

I mean, there is still a long road to do, SK was having anti gay protests last year and the christian population is rising. I suffer the same thing here in my country and we have same sex marriage and other LGBT rights. In any location it's hard to be gay.

yeh but i wasn't talking about Korea originally
im saying if the unit debuts in Europe... they will most likely be a gay member
as the unit will most likely focus on England a open country [where im from] and if a member got drop due to it
all hell would break lose to the point the unit would have to disband

PLUS they would be protected by our discrimination laws and same for every other country what has them what is alot like Australia, Canada, Sweden etc etc

There could be a possibility of SM not wanting a western member to come out because it would harm the image of the group on SK. Like they don't want people to recognize NCT as the group that has a white gay member.

btw i guess those worldwide units that may come will be like WayV, not really into NCT until they join for the yearbook.

doesnt matter if the follow through with western unit sm has no control of a member coming out
before or after the yearbook white or asian
Also it doesnt matter if they put a korean member within the unit our laws will protect them also

I would not be sure about it when the whole thing in kpop is this fanservice of being the boyfriend of your fangirl.

But why are you talking about laws? Are you considering that one member could be discriminited by coming out? I hope in the future we haven't reached the point of depending on them, would be so sad to see something like this hapenning and coming to the public.

a unit in western world wouldnt be treated the same as it does in korea
i cant see idols doing fan service or half the stuff they do in the west..

plus the law stuff got brought up cause if a idol did get discriminated the whole unit/group will be at risk of being dropped specially how sm as a whole reacts, cause if that member remains in --western-- unit and is no longer involed in full group stuff
i would personally drop nct cause i couldn't stan a group like that

but nct as a whole has been super lgbt friendly and always have been

To get at this point of a member being excluded i guess that some rule of the contract has to be broken. Would be such a ridiculous thing to happen, could clearly see a boycott against SM taking place.

And yeah, i can see at least 7 members being queer. So i hope no one of them is homophobic, i would unstan too of course.
