Automatically become very good at one language, or automatically gain the knowledge of the basics for 10 languages?

I pick 10 just because it’s cool to see similarities and differences between languages

this is a hard one my dream is to live in japan for a while so mastering japanese fully would be amazing taking that in mind. But knowing the basics assuming it involves basic conversation skills. I think having basic skills in 10 language would open very job opportunities and be big help in advancing into the real power, that i oh so grave, would be amazing also.

this question is too hard for uran!!!!!!! i will consult my brain once they come back from their break
what i do know is that if it was one average man with conversation and relationship skills vs 10 really hot men, i would choose the one average man for sure

One language apart from my native language (although three languages would be ideal for me: English, Japanese, Russian). You can only be very good at a few things.
