News Yang Irae (winner of JTBC Girls On Fire) says she doesn't know what will happen to the group that's supposed to debut (1 Viewer)

Some facts about Girls on Fire that I copied from a Reddit comment:

Girls On Fire was a JTBC survival show which aired this year between April 16 and June 25 and aimed to debut a 5-member vocal girl group.

The winners were Lee Nayoung (former contestant of Dream Academy), Hwang Seyoung (former Produce 101 contestant), Lee Sooyoung (student of Modern K Music Academy), Kang Yunjeong (soprano) and Yang Irae (French-Korean former JYP trainee).

The winners were promised 200,000,000 won, an album release, a concert tour and a global showcase. However, it's been 6 months since the finale and there has been zero news about the group, not even the agency that's supposed to manage them or the group name (however the girls were allowed creative freedom and would be the ones to come up with a name, just like groups from other JTBC survivals like Superband and Phantom Singer).

The concert was cancelled.

As seen in the tweet, it seems like the girls themselves are being left in the dark and don't know if they'll be able to debut.

Meanwhile JTBC is currently airing male survival show Project 7 and it's been announced that the boy group will be debuting under a newly launched joint label between SLL, Studio Slam and YG PLUS.

I feel like there should be repercussions for promising a certain outcome to TV show contestants and then doing jack all. I bet these girls could have pursued other opportunities if they had known the promised rewards weren't going to materialize.

And I swear I just saw Project 7 get promoted somewhere as part of an upcoming concert line-up or something, so that extra sucks that they've abandoned these girls for their new shiny project show.
