Rumor YG New Girl Group??? (1 Viewer)

Sorry if this thread is a mess, I’ve got no laptop right now so I’m doing this all on the Google app on my iPod touch lol

So basically, YG has trademarked the name Baby Monsters (I know, it’s terrible) and they’ve recently sent two female trainees to Idol Producer in China. They both have English stage names which makes me think YG is trying to market them to a global audience and for any company OTHER than YG, I think 4 years would be the perfect gap between debuting girl groups however if I’m not mistaken YG did start their own Chinese label with Tencent a year or two ago and both of the girls are Chinese so maybe they could be planning a Chinese group like WayV...

what do you guys think?

Well they got a new boy group with Treasure so wouldn't be farfetch'd to believe they have a new girl group as Blackpink is getting to the dreaded 5 year mark aka the old mark for girl groups.

I feel like now would be bad timing for new girl group. Blackpink isnt exactly new group, but they are still rising. Its better to keep focusing them. If this was other company like u said having two ggs might work well. But YG still doesnt have their shit together

YG is still a mess, Treasure is about to debut, a ton of comebacks are going to happen. It‘s not the right time for yg yet.

Well, they’d have to wait for Idol Producer to end before they started planning anything anyway but I could totally see them doing a second season of Treasure Box or something similar at the end of the year. God knows when the winners will actually debut though lol

It’s hard to say though, YG have been planning a female survival show since before Treasure Box so there’s definitely plans for it but at the same time, they have an entire hip hop survival show filmed with Mino and Zion T. that no one will air so who knows what they’ll end up doing.

I do know that they are gonna want to debut another female group soon though, Black Pink are going into their fourth year of a seven year contract and YG will want to establish a new group BEFORE the end of their contracts. They won’t want to make the same mistake they made last time and make it look like one group is replacing the other...

I guess they're trying to keep it on the down low. The YouTube videos don't have English subs and are edited differently than the VLIVE versions-almost like the videos are censored in some way.
