I stan a lot of idols that are considered hated
Berry (Former sorb3t, Soloist & Himichuu)
Stray Kids though objectively compared to some others they aren't AS deep in the haters' quicksand
Momoland got dragged through the mud by @that fandom and it was terrible especially when it was at their peak
I put this in Earth/Around The Globe bc i want ppl in the replies to also talk about non kpop/jpop idol-type stars too

Momoland for sure. They were one of the first groups I stanned I'm not a swiftie but Taylor Swift. I like some of her music and I look up to her. I'm super proud that she keeps going. :D She doesn't deserve the hate train she's always getting. And wonyoung :(

faye wong they will never make me hate you, i guess maggie cheung doesn't exactly count since most her flack came from a time when her acting was genuinely poor
aya (my prev aes) had a rough start
i was in the trenches in the first round of karina bully rumours i deserve compensation for that
it's more overexposure rn but paul mescal i will forever be fond of after aftersun, ayo edebiri falls into that same camp
my girl kiki had it rough for a couple of years, thank god she's out of that relationship, same river girl logic applies to kiku
wkw properly cancelled now but i fear he still writes female characters far better than any major cdrama director rn... gjm and yz are talentless plagiarists and still can't write women

I form attachments to people - not the brand, so I remain a fan of anyone I like that leaves or is removed from a group. It's interesting to me how quickly many supposed fans turn on idols when this happens. If they did something blatantly wrong (like bullying) I get it but most of the time it's just fans who blindly swallow what the PR machine tells them without a shred of evidence and/or jump on the hate wagon.

Jinni, Jessica, Garam and now Danielle are just a few examples of people who have gotten this treatment. Okay, I can see arguments against some of these; Jessica did write a book that people consider defamatory even though she expressly stated it's fiction based on her experience and not an auto-biography but she got hate long before that, Garam was subjected to bullying rumors that has since been proven false and while I'm not terribly versed on that specific situation I can only imagine she'd been spared a lot of unjust suffering if people weren't so quick to jump on the bandwagon. And I do understand that people have different views on the whole NewJeans legal situation. Lastly Jinni did absolutely nothing wrong but has received just as much hate as the rest.

Even if they did do something wrong that's part of being human and there are few cases where this level of hate is justified against someone who went through a lot of suffering and dedicated a large portion of their life to pursuing a dream and entertain people.

Bottom line I guess; I don't care who people hate because there's usually no depth to it and some people look at idols as objects.

In a scene where some douchebags even judge how idols eat, is there any idol that isn't loved by many and hated by a few others?
