Let's see... Limiting myself to a top five and not including any rereads:

Echo of Worlds by MR Carey, book 2 in an excellent scifi duology.

Everyone on This Train is a Suspect by Benjamin Stevenson, a tongue-in-cheek mystery, and I normally don't like mysteries.

The Dead Cat Tail Assassins by P. Djèlí Clark, a dark comedy fantasy. The audiobook is really well done. I liked it so much, I read it twice this year.

A Memory Called Empire by Arkady Martine, a space opera with excellent, compelling characters. (Don't bother with the sequel though.)

The Book that Broke the World by Mark Lawrence, book 2 in a trilogy with book 3 out in April 2025. It's a true blend of sci-fi and fantasy, set around a library.

I highly forget what books I read but no was were there any better than The Crypt: Shakedown by Scott Sigler Hes said the next book is coming in early 2025 and I really hope that’s true because I’m so excited

Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer

A book written by an Indigenous woman who is also a botanist. It follows her journey as an indigenous person in a feild of western thinkers about the land. It was honestly such a profound read. It made me reflect on the consumerism of society and the importance of learning the history of the land. I highly recommend giving it a read and would like to read her other books

I read Serviceberry by her just a couple weeks ago! I liked the warm essays about nature and our place in the world and gift giving.

I highly recommend Braiding Sweetgrass. I had to read it for one of my classes this semester but I ended up loving it way more than I expected to
