I am sure he does not want that but all 3 of those players..(well 2 apparently he Nixed HYBE full stop) do not exuded leadership gold stars.

i don't think you're overreacting, but then again, i'm losing my mind, personally this whole thing feels like the end of the world, which i know it isn't, but i have no idea what this will mean for sm as a whole and how their groups' creative directions will be impacted, among many other things, which worries me as i ult two sm groups. i just ... hate change i suppose but who knows, whatever change that comes of this may be for the better hopefully

What SM has been doing has been working for me, considering all my currently active favs are under SM, so I’m just not looking forwards to any changes. The chance of them being for the better just doesn’t seem high to me.

I’m kinda confused, will LSM not have creative control of the direction of the groups? I mean he created this whole SM Universe only to drop it half way.. for another company to possibly have control over it?? it doesn’t make sense to me?

Last i heard, LSM still wanted creative control or some level of control-which may be why its taking so long to resolve: will he or wont he sell; or rather who will he sell to~ its less than 20% of total shares he's selling which is still majority control (which im assuming hes selling all or almost all his shares, this giving up majority control but he still wants creative or maybe even some financial control, as otherwise SMCU n other creative pursuits might not be fully, or as well funded as he thinks they should be.

Its quite complex, istm: LSM seems to want to sell his cake, but still hv it too ; to creatively control it without majority owning it- not sure how tats goin' work out. In my limited knowledge, iv nvr heard of this working out: new owners will fles n former owners are either pushed out or jump before being pushed. I get tat LSM has a vision n wants to continue tat vision which has a continuity going bk to probably as far bk as either Shinhwa/HOT/SES or TVXQ/SuJu but its an uphill battle if he's trying to do so without ownership/under new owners who might not share his vision. Hes probably tired of splitting his attention between ownership/creative duties by now, so he wants to sell but look at Lucas, he sold Lucasfilm cos he couldnt foresee 10 or so yrs of his life making SW sequels. If SMEnt is owned by either Kakao or CJ, it would probably want control as Disney who paid US$4B dint want Lucas mucking ard SW anymore. Expecting potential new owners of SMEnt to be different (unless ur Kevin Feige who at least is younger than LSM n can be fired if he flopped after Disney bought Marvel) isnt probably gonna happen. i hv no other comment other than i hope aespa, RV n SNSD come through this whole LSM selling his shares intact, n prospering/successful as they shd be.otherwise ill be

Well, im only speculating based on (i think) highly speculative reports in the first place tat arent confirmed; i may be way off base as previously i think i dint read any reports of Lucas planning to sell Lucasfilm until maybe final negotiations just before the agreement was confirmed(maybe weeks or mths beforehand), Marvel as a publically traded entity had maybe a bit more lead up. This seems way too extended to be final unless they come to terms on price n ultimate control. Of 3 parties reportedly in negotiation, 1 already has broken off talks, which depending on which news reported it was either because it was overpriced or LSM wanted to retain some form of control, which wasnt in the cards. Tat buyer would nvr hv given LSM control as its previous acquisitions had creative "synergy" in 1 of its acquisitions(see post#2), tho surprisingly not in another(i wont mention names here).

Tat leaves Kakao n CJ which i already commented all i want to.

Hoping aespa, RV n SNSD thrive watever outcome of SMEnt's ownership situation. Ok as well as all SM bgs ig.

I think this is a case of the devil we know vs the one we don't. We KNOW what SM is like under Sooman and even though we hate some parts, we like quite a lot. The thing about new control is thatwe could be loosing a lot of what we like, while fixing little of what we dislike ... We stand to loose a lot basically.

There's also the generational wisdom tat 1st gen builds, second gen maintains n 3rd gen destroys/ruins everything, especially a creative venture-so Lucas sold SW instead of giving it to his children; instead they shd get US$4B n maybe similar for LSM children and/or his new gf/offspring. There is no way tat SMEnt, JYPE, YGE maybe HYBE lasts beyond LSM, JYP, YG and Hitman Bang's stewardship unless an equally savvy leader/innovator/maintains the creativity/musicianship of the company-in a way you could see it happenning already with BH, RBW, CUBE, IU's agency n PLEDIS with SVT taking the lead from the Big 3 slowly. In 10/20 yrs SM, JYP, YG wont/might not be Big 3 anymore anyway. Maybe Kakao, CJ n HYBE or CUBE or RBW will swallow up smaller upcoming companies n will be Big 3 or Big 4 or Big 5. (Just chkd n Kakao M already has so many smaller companies under their umbrella). So maybe only a matter of time. I probably wont see it come about probably.
