Judging from the way Mnet responded, he's probably gonna be on the show... I have a theory though:

A lot of the rumours and spoilers from this season are saying that there is gonna be more contestants than previous seasons but Mnet's statement is saying 101 so I'm thinking they might be doing something similar to what they did on Produce 101 China. In the auditions for that show they had the 101 official contestants audition then they brought in extra contestants and replaced some of the worst F Rank contestants with the stronger ones from the extra contestants which would explain the contrasting info that we're getting.

I think Hongki is supposed to be enlisting soon so that's probably why, I was hoping he'd come back too.... TBH I was expecting the host to be a woman again this year since BoA did it on the last male season. I just hope that this new guy is there for more of the filming than Lee Seung Gi was because I really didn't see the point of having him there last season...

Yeah, I feel like the host isn't there for half the episodes anyway so if you can't even make the 4 to 6 days of filming that they actually need you for, why are you even taking the job in the fist place?

Yeah cute doesn't really fit what we've heard of the song so far.

I'm still interested in seeing him as center though.

Yeah, I think they wanted cute like Daehwi, but guys like these usually don’t end up #1, so I don’t think he’ll end up first simply for being centre, he’ll probably rank high though. On other hand, I think I prefer second season centre selection more, since A rank trainees picked one among themselves, not fans.

Oh, you can trust me. They kept using this line all the time during second season and it was always true. No one even takes it seriously anymore, lmao.
