hmm, not sure; maybe Kate Bush? i used to believe in an objective "best" but not rlly any longer. its all subjective, or a popularity contest-which is fine. but its not the "best", just a vote on the most popular, or favorite. but im not gonna convince others of tat, so...

I would say he is one of the top singers of all times; although he may not be a good person, of that I don't know much. I used to think he's the best; but now I think otherwise.

Judging people as singers is a little hard, not even the "experts" agree. Vocal techniques are not everything. Singers must transmit a feeling to the audience, and get the audience into a "trance". I guess liking the singer as a person is part of the whole package anyway. Pavarotti may not be as engaging nowadays as he was back in his time of glory.

Have you checked out Dimash Qudaibergen? He's in my opinion the best; but I have read opinions that go in the sense that his very vocal prowess is a problem because it can be distracting.

Certainly stand still vocalist's who tell the entire story with just voice are above those who rely on visual aspects.

For me at least its gotta be someone whom when i close my eyes and listen i am taken to that moment.
