Does the label of your bias group affect how long it took you to stan them? (1 Viewer)

if they were a part of the big three (+HYBE)/not a part of the big three (+HYBE)?

AKA how long would it have taken you to stan TXT if they weren't in HYBE, how long would it have taken you to stan ATEEZ if they were in YG?

Does it matter, would it change anything?

Stray Kids it took me a long time to stan them anyway so I think it'd be about similar since my reasons for stanning them don't have to do with the fact they are from JYP
NCT if they were not in SM still wouldn't have taken a while since I was really into stanning predebut groups back when they debuted

EDIT: It seems that some people might misunderstand my question, I'm not asking if label/company names matter to you, I'm asking if they affect how long it takes you to check out a group in the first place. Would you still have found *insert group name* if they were in YG vs if they had been in a company that had never debuted another group before at the same time?

i got into svt before i knew about kpop entertainment companies so it wouldnt have made a difference, even for the groups i got into later like fromis and pentagon i didnt pay attention to what company they were under

Just to generally clear things up, I wasn't asking if labels or company names matter to you as in like do you think a company automatically will make a group better. I was asking if you would check out the group you stan if they had been in a nugu company vs a big three company. A lot of people would not necessarily have noticed TXT if they had not been the next big hit boy group or a lot of people might not have noticed Red Velvet if they hadn't been the new girl group from SM etc. It's not really a matter of if you like a certain company, just how long it would take you to even realize they exist/want to check out their music.

I know a lot of you listen to everything regardless so

I suppose the better question would be, do you often listen to/seek out nugu groups or do you tend to stick with the ones that are from well established companies

It wouldn't matter to me, most of the groups I love come from smaller companies but I also like a lot from the big 3 + hybe so

Yeah it still doesn't really matter to me. I like a lot of nugu groups and music from way more nugu groups, and a lot more than many big 3/big hit groups like treasure, txt, itzy, enhypen, blackpink where their music is really not my taste

I promote nugu groups and their music a lot too, I had a whole nugu promotion channel on a multi server on discord before (@WinterWonderland and @Goldenstar were kind of mods there), and I made a thread to promote nugu groups that I'll remake here

I also don't care at all about promotion, bc the more promoted groups are the ones whose companies have more money, so I don't check out groups after seeing concept photos, teasers, trailers, bc a song is popular etc. Only when I like some of their music already or like the members and their skills, bc I was impressed by seeing them for example on a show with my faves and they have an amazing main vocal; or from recommendations from others. So I discover their music mostly through pure listening in music apps which gives everyone a chance.

Ahh ok, but my answer would still be the same. I’ve stanned B1A4 since debut, and they were the first artist to debut under WM Entertainment. The second group I stanned was EXO, and they’re under SM. Complete opposite ends of the scale, but still love both groups dearly.

I do seek out nugu groups, actually because there really are hidden gems among them.

I mean, if it's HYBE, I auto stan, but if it's Cube, I don't - with the exception of Pentagon. lol But other than that, it doesn't really matter. And to answer your other question, I tend to lean towards more popular groups, but if a nugu is really good, I'll stan them, too.

but if we're talking about predebut groups then it obv has an effect; the nugu idols are too nugu to have any info leaks
