Meaning your neighbors and classmates were 9 times out of 10 black. But on rare occasions they could be non-black... *to me it felt like it happened every few years.

Not at all, we did have a few different cultures in classes but those were really the exception

A little. My neighbor, who was my best friend at the time, was Laotian and his mom loved me a lot. They moved like 4 years ago, I miss them. His mom would also cook me homemade food and call me from the garden to pick it up lol. More the years pass, more the area is getting diverse, which is cool.
