Majority of the time it's a more darker themed music in Japan, including clothing, makeup, sound etc.

I think Mai Yajima follows the vkei trend; but the style she takes is very similar to the ones many male bands take, so she looks very much feminine. I don't consider it being a music genre. I think it is the visual style.
