I struggled with where to put the 2nd episode performances in the rankings so this took longer for me to get out but here it is
I'm only going to give my opinions on the performances from the 2nd episode as I already did a thread on the ones from the 1st episode.
I thought that Brave Girls performance started off good as the intro looked pretty good but when it got into Chi Mat Ba Ram however I couldn't help but feel that after the strong intro that the weakness of the song brought the performance down. The 2nd dance break I didn't feel helped the performance either and the transition to Rollin could have been done in a different way however it did pick up when Rollin' came on but at that point the performance was almost over so it was just a short lived second wind to end on.
Chi Mat Ba Ram clashed with the rest of the performance with the song being more chill and the other parts of the performance coming off stronger which made for an odd experience even if the parts themselves weren't bad.
Kep1ers dance skills were good and I didn't mind the remix despite not being a fan of Wa Da Da however that's where I feel the positives end for the performance as I don't feel the dance formations made good use of the stage to where it felt emptier than other groups which I can only think was a lack of experience. The lack of props did not help that feeling either and the flags added nothing to the performance as well as the heart dance moves near the end made the performance feel small time even if Wa Da Das signature move is a heart however Queendom wasn't the place for it.
In the end I feel like this highlighted a lack of experience on Kep1ers part in how they used the stage which made worse the fact that the only props they had on stage were the flags and there just wasn't enough to distract from how empty the stage felt at times.
Loona seemed to have a completely different stage to perform on which makes it a little harder to compare but nevertheless I thought they managed to make a good use of the stage especially since they didn't really have any props in their performance. The performance itself had some cool parts it and I think the remix of Paint The Town delivered making for a performance that was fairly simple but kept you just engaged enough.
I think if I had to say anything it would be that the performance felt like this should be the minimum for a Queendom performance so it didn't do enough to stand out as what I'd call a great Queendom performance however it didn't do anything that I'd say was particularly bad either.
I liked the intro to the performance as it immediately got you engaged and WJSN made good use of the stage throughout the performance with each of the main parts being good. It built throughout the performance until it got to the final part of the performance which was a really good last part to end on that took the performance up a notch at the end just from the sight.
The issue I have with it though is that the song had too many transition parts that slowed the performance since I think the only one that actually worked well was the one before Exys part while the others more so worked against the performance.
My ranking of the 1st round performances in the end would be as follows
1. Viviz
2. Hyolyn
3. Loona
4. WJSN
5. Brave Girls
6. Kep1er
Overall the 1st episode had the performances that were going to be more impactful in the round since they felt more complete while the others just didn't quite hit the mark.
These have been my thoughts on the hit performances of Queendom 2 and here's your tag @Yili
