and i think many of these vids do a disservice not addressing some issues.

Suili and Krystal were super Young at 14. Krystal had a solid family and Jessica living near, but all Suili had was the members. Having lived with Taeyeon and Tiffany pre debut for all in the "out of Seoul" dorms.

Vic as a foreign national up to 8 years older than all and more than 5 on Amber the next oldest. Was the only adult in the group for some time and SM had her working everywhere. Amber got hurt early in 2010 and that was less than idea, between these explains some of the early come back spottiness.

2012 was 3 years in typically the launch point of Asia tours and Electric shock was a monster. Was SM so stretched with the launch of EXO and TTS that they could not hire some manager's and support staff?
Touring, concerts live events are the lifeblood of every group. Why did they never tour? i am not even sure they did the colleges show circuit.

How much did Krystal's anemia/health play into this?

Why did they not target China more early in the career.

Given that the fx fanbase was the most solo driven in the 2nd gen era, why did sm not give em a fan name and color to bond with to try and help that?

After 2012 they clearly went with a 1 full album a year comeback cycle on top of the no touring. Why, companies exist to make money and was that the best use of the assists? did the solo gigs generate that much more money?

She brought up that they were targeting the us but it was all coming undone in 2013. Pink tapes success aside.
By the time 2014 came around fx was being held together with scotch tape which broke mid promotion. What could have been done to help with that?

ik the fandom jokes that the reason why f(x) was created was because of amber (everyone else was meant for other debuts) and tbh I do think there is some merit to that joke in that it could explain why sm felt so underprepared/had no real plan going on for the group

I could be wrong but I've always felt Krystal and especially Sulli were to blame for never touring. Even if they didn't want to do a world tour they could have easily done a US tour and a Chinese tour. They had enough fans in both to warrant it.

Krystal was more into acting and Sulli always struck me as not having the stamina to do a long concerts. Perfect example being the concert they did with EXO in 2013. They didn't have to shoulder a whole show by themselves. Might not be a coincidence that Dimension 4 happened after Sulli left.

Their album releases were also unheard of. NOBODY only releases nothing but full albums..It wasn't just their music that was experimental. It was the whole damn group.

I always thought they were running out of time with Vic, so they had to debut.

I think that was likely part of the reason, another rumor I heard a bit was that she krystal and sulli were all meant to debut as actresses and luna as a solo

Even with idles tomboy that is a group with a ton of very pretty girls selling ambers image.

I think the album thing worked if you really see the goal as western like music promotion.
Its just by the time they were committed to it for pink tape and red light Suili was done.

the sm creatives definitely had fun playing around with f(x), I wish they were active around for longer because I would've loved to see what new things art direction and a&r would've liked to try
tbh I think between f(x) being abandoned (aka no more idol krystal) and general overwork from sm, that's why mhj was so easy to poach away

I dont doubt it one bit that Sulli quickly realized idol life was not for her. And I don't blame her. I loved her as an idol and being in f(x) but how many of us decide to do something (like get a new job) and then realize "oh shit what did I get myself into? This is not what I really want to do".

And Sulli was 15 when she made the decision to put acting on the back burner for idol life. How many of us change our minds in our 20s 30s 40s and so on??
